Capital law enforcement officers began a pre-trial investigation due to sexist statements by ex-adviser of the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexei Arestovich at his “psychological seminars”.
5 statements were added to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations October, following a statement from People's Deputy Inna Sovsun about Arestovich's distribution of video products promoting the cult of violence and cruelty.
– Remember, I filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies against Arestovich? I received a response from the police about the start of a pre-trial investigation. This means that the police are now obliged to conduct an investigation,” said Inna Sovsun.
What are Arestovich charged with?
The pre-trial investigation began under Part 2 of Art. 300 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (production or distribution of film and video products promoting the cult of violence and cruelty).

If proven guilty, Alexey Arestovich may expecta fine of two up to four thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or restriction of freedom for up to five years.
Irina Sovsun is convinced: if the case is brought to its logical conclusion, this will be an important precedent for Ukraine, so this story needs constant public control.
– This will be proof that the law is the same for everyone, and impunity is no longer the norm, the people's deputy notes.
What they say in the prosecutor's office
Procedural management of this criminal proceeding will be carried out by the Kiev City Prosecutor's Office.

– We will do everything that is provided for by the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. We will not go beyond the limits,” noted the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
Will the articles of production be adjusted
When asked by ICTV Facts whether during the investigation they would take into account the fact that Alexey Arestovich, according to open sources, does not have specialized education to conduct psychological seminars, the prosecutor’s office promised to establish all the facts relevant to the case.

How a scandal broke out
The scandal over Alexey Arestovich's sexist statements broke out after journalist and blogger Emma Antonyuk and presenter of Vіkna Novyny on STB and the Edinі Novyny marathon Yana Brenzei published on their YouTube channel Palya a video with excerpts from two paid seminars of Arestovich's Apeiron school.
As the journalists found out, at his paid closed lectures Arestovich calls women “creatures”, “unbalanced” and talks about the desire to “strangle” them.
In particular, at one of the lectures, Arestovich stated that a “woman should look at a man as an idol.” And periodically smear his lips with your sacrificial blood.
After publicity, Arestovich stated that all his activities are aimed at “teaching women true dignity, and men how to treat women correctly“ #8221;.
And at lectures he allegedly uses his 17 years of theatrical experience, posing as a man who has certain complaints about women.
