At the end of the anxious Independence Day, the capital decided to dilute this restless holiday. Thus, the Motherland was illuminated with the colors of our national flag.

Kiev people could observe such beauty in the evening. This is reported by Channel 24.

Motherland has become blue-yellow

On the photos published on the network, you can see how in Kyiv the highest monumental building in Europe – “Mother of the Fatherland” – was illuminated with the colors of the Ukrainian flag. This was done in honor of the Independence Day of our country.

By the way, earlier in the capital on August 24 it was forbidden to hold any events due to the war, but nevertheless the highlighting of the Motherland took place.

Russians shelled Ukraine on Independence Day

According to the “Operational Armed Forces of Ukraine”, after numerous reports of an air raid on August 24, a wave of fake reports of explosions in Bila Tserkva, Rivne, Kharkiv and the Zhytomyr region spread throughout Ukraine.

In addition, on Independence Day there were reports of fake mining of infrastructure facilities in Vinnitsa, Rivne, Lvov, Khmelnitsky and Kyiv. In turn, officially confirmed enemy shelling occurred in:

  • Mirgorod, Poltava region;
  • Kharkov, Malaya Danilovka, Dergachi, Kharkiv region;
  • Nikopol, Sinelnikovsky, Krivorozhsky, Dniprovsky districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • Shepetovsky district of the Khmelnytsky region;
  • Nikolaev, Bashtansky, Bereznegovatsky, Novobugsky communities of the Nikolaev region;
  • Zaporozhye, Zaporozhye region;
  • Esmansky, Znob-Novgorod, Belopolsky communities of Sumy region;
  • Chernihiv district of Chernihiv region;
  • on the demarcation line in Donetsk region.
