A great victory for our diplomacy, – political scientist about Kuleba’s visit to China Natalya Belzetskaya Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba paid a diplomatic visit to China. He discussed a number of important issues in the context of achieving a just peace. It is worth emphasizing that the US State Department supported Ukraine's peace initiatives during the meeting in Beijing. Political scientist Alexey Buryachenko told Channel 24 about this, noting that our state demonstrated serious subjectivity. “Kuleba's visit to China is a big victory for our diplomacy. In addition, such a meeting was probably an initiative of the Ukrainian side,” the political scientist noted. Before the trip to China, consultations were probably held with our European colleagues, in particular with France. After all, in May 2024, Xi Jinping came to Paris and, in addition to official negotiations, had informal communication with Emmanuel Macron. Perhaps Ukraine even found intermediaries who helped organize the meeting or avoid diplomatic misunderstandings between our partners. Therefore, this is definitely not a spontaneous story. China does not work spontaneously in the foreign policy arena. It works in a very classical, slightly archaic way, and all statements are balanced. Therefore, receiving an official invitation from China is very important. Thus, Ukraine demonstrated its serious subjectivity, – the political scientist emphasized. It is worth remembering that Russian propaganda constantly says that our state allegedly has no subjectivity, does everything that it is told in the United States. And in this particular case, Ukraine implemented such a meeting and, in general, has a number of diplomatic victories on different continents. Therefore, the visit of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to China can become a good foundation for synchronizing our positions. The first results are already there, because statements are being made about the territorial integrity and subjectivity of Ukraine. There is a good chance to agree that China will be at the Second Peace Summit and help resolve the situation in Ukraine. Of course, our plans are different and they need to be synchronized, but if Beijing representatives do come to the summit, it will mean that they have recognized Ukraine’s peace formula, stressed Alexey Buryachenko. We also shouldn’t forget that China is the leader of the Global South, so its presence could mean the presence of a number of other countries. What the meeting between Kuleba and Wang Yi showed
