Ukrainian border guards detained their Belarusian colleague after he illegally crossed the border. The court punished the man with a two-day arrest.

The incident happened on June 29 around 13:20. However, this became known only after the publication of the relevant court decision.

Belarusian border guard was detained in Ukraine

The court decision says that the Belarusian, serving officer of the material support of the Brest border group, crossed the border with Ukraine outside the checkpoint on the territory of the Shatsk community of the Volyn region. The man was moving from Belarusian Dubka to Ukrainian Khripsk.

He was detained by a patrol of Ukrainian border guards. On the fact of the violation against the man, an administrative protocol was drawn up, which was soon submitted to the court. Illegal border crossing outside the checkpoint is punishable by a fine of 3,400 to 8,500 hryvnia or arrest for up to 15 days.

The court decided to punish the border guard with only 2 days of arrest. He also had to pay 496 hryvnia court fees. Considering that the incident took place at the end of June, most likely the violator had already been fired and returned home.

The court decision did not give an explanation to the detainee why, how and why he crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. At the same time, on July 12, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that there were allegedly no incidents involving border guards. They emphasized that none of them crossed the border with Ukraine, so all border guards continue to serve and guard the border.

At the same time, the Ukrainian State Border Service has not yet confirmed or commented on this incident.

Pay attention! A similar incident happened recently. The Belarusian soldier fled from the unit and went to the Lithuanian border.
