The invaders are turning Bakhmut into ruins every day. A small number of local residents who remained are already accustomed to constant shelling and living in basements.
A group of law enforcement officers of the Donetsk region “White Angels” rescued 7-year-old Anechka. The girl lived in the basement of a house in Bakhmut for six months.
Why the family did not leave the city
Anna, her mother and grandfather lived in the basement of a high-rise building for about six months. All this time, law enforcement officers urged the family to leave, but the girl's mother did not agree.
Adults were satisfied with such living conditions and they did not want to leave their hometown. At the same time, the child lived in constant fear without friends and games. The police began to take care of the fate of the girl and took patronage over her family. To please Anna, “White Angels” came to her with gifts: coloring books, pencils, toys, clothes and sweets.
The police took the girl to a safe place
Now the entire basement where the family lives is decorated with Anna's drawings. Realizing that such conditions are not suitable for the life and development of a child, the Donbass police began to look for housing for the family in order to take them to a safe place.

Subsequently, a temporary free apartment was found for the family in the Pokrovsky district. The police said that when they arrived at the shelter where the family lived, only the grandfather was there. It turned out that the woman was frightened and left the basement with her daughter. The police went looking for them and found them a few hours later at the local Invincibility Point. Volunteers had to convince the girl's mother to leave the city.
Today is such a great day, sunny and there weren't even “booms”. This, probably, God helped and my police “angels”. Now everything will be fine with us and I will finally fulfill my dream – I will go to the dance, – says Annushka.
Currently, the family is safe in their temporary apartment.
What is the situation in Bakhmut
- Vladimir Zelensky said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine should stay in Bakhmut until Ukraine receives the necessary weapons. According to him, after the capture of the city, the Russians will want to go further.
- According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy continues to attack in separate areas. The Russians are concentrating their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Novopavlovsky directions.
- Heavy fighting continues in the eastern part of Bakhmut. As military expert Oleg Zhdanov noted, if the Armed Forces of Ukraine stop the invaders near the village of Ivanovskoye, then the defense of the western part of the city will make sense.
- Speaker of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces Sergei Cherevaty said that every day the losses of the invaders near Bakhmut leave hundreds.
