9 days under the rubble: Ukrainian rescuers told the story of saving a woman in Turkey

by alex

After the devastating earthquake in Turkey, a woman spent 9 days under the rubble. She managed to survive, and Ukrainian rescuers noticed her in time.

A 30-year-old woman spent 9 days under the rubble, when the temperature ranged from -2 to +15 degrees. And she was able to survive.

It was a miracle: what is known about the surviving woman

Presofficer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Alexander Khorunzhiy said that on the 9th day of search and rescue operations in Turkey, the Ukrainian combined detachment of the State Emergency Service found and rescued a woman at the age of about 30 years. She spent 205 hours under the rubble at temperatures from -2 to +15 degrees.

When two Ukrainian rescuers climbed the rubble, they heard a sound like a groan. Rescuers immediately declared a minute of silence and launched a cynologist with a dog. The dog clearly indicated where the person could be.

Rescuers began to work there. With the help of special tools, they got to the woman, pulled her to the surface. It was a delight, because ours worked very competently, very clearly. Turkey was shocked, so this is the two hundred and fifth hour, they counted the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake by the clock. It was also a miracle for us,” said Khorunzhiy.

In the photo, you can see how a woman is carried on a stretcher for medical care. The bewildered rescuers film this moment, as the victim was apparently “born in a shirt.” Surviving under the rubble for 9 days is almost impossible.

Reference. The Ukrainian rescue team during its mission in Turkey rescued one person and released the bodies of 58 dead. Our units examined 454 buildings and dismantled the rubble of 136 houses.
