The European Business Association, together with the research company Gradus Research, studied what Ukrainians think about how their quality of life has changed in 2025. Among the main issues are satisfaction with work, salary, security and social life.
What percentage of Ukrainians are satisfied with life in 2025
Work. In this aspect, the level of satisfaction of Ukrainians barely reaches a third – only 31% of respondents answered positively, while a third reported that they were not satisfied.
Money. Among the surveyed representatives of the general audience, only 15% consider their income acceptable for a decent life. At the same time, 85% note that the income level is insufficient – 68% of respondents earn less than 20 thousand hryvnia per month.

Social life. This is one of the few areas where satisfaction has increased compared to previous indicators. Thus, 33% of Ukrainians are satisfied, while 42% are not satisfied.
“This may indicate a certain adaptation to wartime conditions and the strengthening of horizontal ties,” the researchers emphasize.
Security. Only 10% of Ukrainians said they were happy with this aspect of their lives in 2025. The most negative responses were in the southern and eastern regions, the most positive in Kyiv, the West, and among young people.
Health. Among Ukrainians, only 26% said they were satisfied with the healthcare system, while 38% expressed a negative opinion.
Education. Here, respondents were asked to evaluate not only the quality, but also the availability of educational services. It is noted that Ukrainians evaluate this aspect better than before – 31% are satisfied, while a year ago there were only 20%. Another 36% are dissatisfied. Last year, there were 44%.
Law. The share of those satisfied with the legal field increased slightly – from 12% to 19%, while the share of those dissatisfied decreased – from 59% to 48%.
Ecology. People rate this aspect consistently low – 10% satisfied and 63% dissatisfied.
Overall quality of life. 17% of Ukrainians surveyed are satisfied with their overall experience of living in Ukraine, 35% provide a neutral assessment, and 48% provide an unsatisfactory assessment.
The youngest audience (16-25 years old) responded most positively: 29% satisfied versus 36% dissatisfied. Residents of the western part of the country also rated this aspect better – 23% satisfied versus 43% dissatisfied.
Let us recall that the quality of life barometer (until 2022 – the happiness barometer in Ukraine) is an annual survey conducted by the European Business Association since 2018.
The research company Gradus Research became a partner in this study in 2025.
The study is being conducted among men and women aged 16 and over, living in Ukraine in cities with a population of over 50,000, with the exception of temporarily occupied territories and those where active military operations are taking place.
Sample: 1,000 people, survey period: May 2025.
