EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said that concrete commitments have already been received to deliver 80% of the planned 2 million rounds of ammunition that the EU is to transfer to Ukraine in 2025.

She announced this during a conversation with journalists after the end of the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, which took place on June 23 in Brussels, writes European Pravda.

Kallas collected 80% of the two million munitions promised to Ukraine

According to Kallas, most EU countries have already confirmed their participation in the initiative and promised to provide ammunition. Now it remains to agree on another 20% in order to fully implement the plan.

“We discussed military support for Ukraine, and I am pleased to report that 80% of the pledges needed for the two million rounds of ammunition initiative have already been made for this year,” she said.

It was Kaja Kallas who initiated the large-scale aid package for Ukraine. According to diplomatic sources, the plan envisaged military support in the amount of €20 to €40 billion.

She later said that if EU countries were not ready to agree on such aid, it was entirely possible to first agree on €5 billion for ammunition under this initiative.
