In Kyiv, traffic on the blue metro line between Demeevskaya and Teremki stations will be partially limited from December 9. This is due to the repair of the distillation tunnel.
As the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported, trains will run between the stations of Heroiv Dnepra and Lybidska.
– Restrictions on the Teremki section — Demeevskaya are being introduced due to the need for urgent repairs of the distillation tunnel between stations. Train traffic on this section will have to be completely stopped until the work is completed, — explained in the KSCA.
According to preliminary calculations, the work will last about six months and will be carried out on the surface of the earth.

It is noted that the stations Demeevskaya, Goloseevskaya, Vasilkovskaya, Exhibition Center, Hippodrome, Teremki will continue to operate around the clock in shelter mode. For the transportation of passengers, duplicate routes of ground transport are provided from Teremky to Lybidskaya.
Why repairs are necessary
The decision was made by the Standing Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations of the Kyiv City State Administration.
The Kiev Metro noted that the issue of safety of passenger transportation is a priority. Stopping train traffic on this section of the metro line — a forced step to avoid an emergency situation during heavy train traffic.
– Due to uneven processes of decompaction, vibro-suspension around the soil mass and the load on the tunnel frame, there is a risk of loss of stability of tunnel structures, — the message says.
Distillation tunnels between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations were built in the floodplain of the Lybid River in 2008-2010 by underground method in difficult mining and geological conditions, with artificial water lowering.
