Poland will purchase over a thousand weapons and equipment from South Korea/Channel 24 Collage
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak signed separate agreements on the purchase of weapons and equipment from South Korea on July 27. We are talking about FA-50 fighters, K2 tanks and K9 self-propelled howitzers.

It is noted that part of the delivered South Korean weapons will replace what what Poland handed over to Ukraine . The implementation of the country's agreements was divided into several stages.
F-50 fighters
Poland will purchase 48 F- light fighters from South Korea 50 . The country will receive the first 12 aircraft under the agreement in mid-2023. They will receive a configuration that will meet the needs of the Polish Air Force and will be equipped with NATO IFF NATO recognition systems.
According to Lieutenant Colonel of the Polish Armed Forces Krzysztof Platek, the choice of this particular type of aircraft is due to the availability and the fact that these fighters can quickly replace outdated post-Soviet equipment – Su-22 and MiG-29.
Tanks K2 “Black Panther”
The order of South Korean tanks was divided into two stages – in the first stage, Poland will purchase 180 units and deliveries will begin this year. The second stage involves obtaining another 800 tanksK2PL standard. In addition, their production will be launched directly in Poland in 2026.
K9 self-propelled howitzers
The purchase of South Korean artillery will be divided into stages. At the first stage, Poland will acquire 48 K9 self-propelled howitzers already this year to replace the artillery weapons transferred to Ukraine after February 24.
Deliveries of more than 600 howitzers , according to the agreement, should begin in 2024. Already from 2026, K9 will be produced directly in Poland.
By the way, from the first batch, South Korean self-propelled howitzers will be equipped with Polish communication systems and connected to the Topaz integrated combat control system.< /p>
Such a fortification is extremely important given the situation we are dealing with on our eastern borders. We see that armored forces and artillery are now of great importance on the battlefield. Hence the decision to strengthen precisely these types of the Armed Forces of Poland,” Blaschak emphasized.
