Suspects were caught red-handed/Prosecutor General's Office

Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office reported suspicions to two Bukovinians. They probably smuggled men across the state border illegally.

This was reported on April 12 in the office of the Prosecutor General. They noted that men who wanted to break wartime laws were helped to leave for Romania.

“According to the investigation, a resident of Boyan, Chernivtsi district, together with a fellow villager, set up a scheme for illegal migration of citizens of Ukraine abroad – men who are forbidden to leave borders of the state,” the Office of the Prosecutor General said.

How law enforcement officers operate

The suspects were caught red-handed. For the “service” the conscript paid 4,500 dollars. Now law enforcement officers are considering the issue of precautionary measures. They also establish all those involved in the offense.

Responsibility for illegal border crossing

The Verkhovna Rada registered a bill on criminal liability for men who illegally left Ukraine during martial law. Crossing the border in this way can result in fines or jail time.
