Fighters of the Nikopol anti-aircraft missile regiment shot down a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber near Yenakiyevo. The Air Force told the details of the destruction of the enemy aircraft.
The temporarily occupied Yenakiyevo is located behind enemy lines. However, 35 kilometers is not so far. Yuriy Ignat, speaker of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the national telethon, Channel 24 informs .
Yuri Ignat noted that in the first weeks of Russian aggression, our defenders shot down several such aircraft a day. The enemy pilots thought that the Air Force had already been destroyed and nothing could be done to them. However, Ukrainian soldiers proved the opposite.
These were the first weeks of aggression, but they (aircraft – Channel 24) were shot down quite a lot. And now such a fat goal, as they say, is such a significant event for us, especially if the pilots didn’t survive, it’s generally very good,” Ignat emphasized.
The speaker also noted that the anti-aircraft gunners should be congratulated. Such things inspire, especially when you see a visualization of how people in Russia react to these things – this is a very good incentive.
Ukrainian soldiers have already destroyed a fairly large part of Russian aviation, however, the enemy, unfortunately, still has a lot of equipment left. The fact is that the aggressor state is the manufacturer of these Su-34 aircraft. This is a two-seat fighter-bomber. There used to be a Su-24, it was replaced by a new generation Su-34.
What is known about the downing of the Russian Su-34
- On March 3, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shot down an enemy fighter-bomber near the temporarily occupied Yenakiyevo in the Donetsk region. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that one pilot was killed, the other is preparing to join him.
