In Stockholm, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Prime Minister of Iceland Bjarni Benediktsson signed an Agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-Term Support.

As noted in the Office of the President, Iceland has pledged to provide comprehensive and long-term economic, humanitarian and defense support to Ukraine, as well as to promote its future membership in the EU and NATO.

According to the document, during 2024-2028 Iceland will annually allocate at least 4 billion ISK (about $30 million).

Separate sections of the agreement concern support for the Ukrainian peace formula, sanctions against the Russian Federation, compensation for damage and bringing the aggressor to justice.

Recall that Ukraine has already signed 14 bilateral security deals. So, today, May 31, President Vladimir Zelensky signed such an agreement with Sweden during a working visit to Stockholm.

Agreements were also signed with Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal and Iceland.
