The court found the militants guilty of high treason. The verdict was approved on the basis of evidence gathered by the SBU. In addition to 15 years in prison, property will be confiscated from traitors.

The militants were captured in the Sumy region

All were part of an illegal armed group of the so-called “4 separate motorized rifle battalions of the 119th regiment of the DPR”. The militants were taken prisoner at the end of March, during the liberation of the Severshchina.

The investigation found that on February 24, the men voluntarily joined the ranks of the militants. They received military uniforms, weapons and ammunition. At the same time, none of them belonged to military professions.

Trained in Russia

In early March, under the guidance of Russian servicemen, they underwent short-term military training on the territory of the Belgorod region. Then they went to the Sumy region.

The invaders used traitors to:

  • arrangement and strengthening of combat positions and checkpoints in the temporarily occupied territories; ️
  • implementation of checkpoints and security functions at checkpoints and positions of the enemy.

The collected evidence made it possible to sentence them to real terms of imprisonment.
