The 127th day of Ukraine's heroic struggle against the Russian invaders is coming to an end. Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again addressed the Ukrainians, where he noted the importance of starting the export of Ukrainian electricity to Europe.
According to the President, such a step brings our state closer to the European Union and significantly reduces the need for EU member states in Russian gas imports. Channel 24 transmits the details of Zelensky's speech.
The supply of Ukrainian electricity is a security issue for the whole of Europe
Vladimir Zelensky stressed that today, June 30, another important step towards rapprochement between Ukraine and the European Union took place – our state began a significant export of electricity to the EU countries.
And this is only the first stage. We are preparing to increase supplies,” Zelensky stressed.
According to the president, the European Union’s imports of Ukrainian electricity can replace a significant part of Russian gas consumed by Europeans. In fact, this is not just a matter of export earnings for Ukraine, but a matter of the security of the whole of Europe.
I would like to remind you that our country joined the common EU energy system after the start of a full-scale war. Ukraine is doing things that seemed impossible,” the president added.
