What is known about the first convicted occupier Vadim Shishimarin/Public
In Ukraine, on May 23, for the first time, a Russian soldier was sentenced for killing a civilian. The convict was 21-year-old Vadim Shishimarin.
The enemy sergeant served as the commander of the tank “Kantemirovskaya division” in the Moscow region. Read everything that is known about him in the material of Channel 24.
How Shishimarin ended up in Ukraine
A Russian military man comes from the city of Ust-Ilimsk, in Siberia. Shishimarin did not have time to marry, there are no children either. According to an investigation by the Current Time publication, in Russia the occupier has debts for housing and utilities. The amount of the debt is 200 thousand rubles, that is, 3300 dollars.
By the way, in 2020 the convict worked at McDonald's and earned 40 thousand rubles, which at that time amounted to 550 dollars.
24 February Shishimarin, along with other Russian military illegally crossed the border of Ukraine in the Sumy region. The 21-year-old occupier moved deep into Ukraine until the APU broke his column. Then the Shishimarin group began to retreat to the border with Russia.
How a Russian soldier killed a civilian Ukrainian
Shishimarin himself said that during the retreat on February 28, his fellow invaders seized a civilian car. On the way, they saw an unarmed man talking on the phone. The sergeant was ordered to shoot a passer-by – 62-year-old resident of the village of Chupakhovka Alexander Shelipov. However, Shishimarin allegedly refused at first.
Ensign Makeev saw a man. Makeev said that he would hand us over, that he was calling the military on the phone. Ordered to shoot. I didn't fire. An unknown military man, who was sitting nearby, began to order in a threatening tone, arguing that we would not reach our troops, that we would not call for help, and that we were in danger. When we drew level, I fired a short burst. Thus, I killed him,” Shishimarin confessed.
Local residents said that further on, the occupiers killed another man – he burned to death in the passenger compartment of the car from enemy fire. Then the Russians stole a local doctor's car and fled the village in it.
Subsequently, the invaders were ambushed by territorial defense fighters and fled to an abandoned pig farm. On March 1, they surrendered to the locals.
Alexander Shelipov's wife heard the fatal shot
The wife of the murdered Shelipov said that she was in the yard during the shooting. Catherine saw the Russian military and closed the gate and disappeared behind a pillar. Returning home, the woman noticed that the man was not at home for a long time. Later, his body was found nearby.
As a result, Shishimarin's involvement in the murder was established
- Thanks to a polygraph test;
- testimony of the wife of the deceased;
- Shelipov's mobile phone was also found on the military, and the examination of his weapon confirmed the shot.

The occupier pleaded guilty
At the trial, the Russian admitted that he killed a civilian and repented.
I would like to once again apologize for what I did. I do not refuse and I am ready to take all the measures that will be, – said Shishimarin.
On May 23, Solomensky district sentenced the occupier to life imprisonment under an article on violation of the laws and customs of warfare. However, Shishimarin has another 30 days to appeal this decision. It is known that the lawyer provided by Ukraine free of charge to the invader is already preparing a corresponding lawsuit. The defendant's lawyer believes that the case was qualified incorrectly.
By the way, Ekaterina Shelipova insisted on life imprisonment for her husband's killer. However, the woman said that she was not opposed to Shishimarin being exchanged for the Ukrainian military from Azovstal.
How the parents of the Russian military reacted
Even before As the court sentenced Shishimarin, the journalists talked to the occupant's father and grandmother. The husband was indignant why this Ukrainian justice was engaged in his son, and not someone else. At the same time, my grandmother said that “anything can happen” in the war, including murder.
Both insisted that Vadim be exchanged. However, they did not object to the war in Ukraine, or, as they call it, “special operations.” Like, the guy had to go to Ukraine and kill people.
