US initiates new sanctions against North Korea/Channel 24 Collage
In the coming days, the UN Security Council will vote for sanctions against North Korea. The United States initiated this increase in sanctions pressure after the demonstration launch of several missiles of this totalitarian state of the East.
At the same time, they have already stated that they will not support the adoption of sanctions by China and Russia, which are also members of the Security Council. This was announced to journalists on May 25 by one of the US officials on condition of anonymity.
What kind of restrictions threaten North Korea? aimed specifically at the military industry. They must restrict the illegal development of weapons of mass destruction. In particular, it will ban the launch of ballistic and cruise missiles. Also testing any other systems “that are capable of delivering nuclear weapons”.
This project will further limit North Korea's ability to promote illegal weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs. It will make it easier to implement sanctions and make it even easier to deliver humanitarian aid to those in need, the US official said.
It should be noted that this country has been subject to UN sanctions since 2006. The Security Council constantly strengthened them in order to stop funding Pyongyang's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.
The last time such tightening of sanctions was adopted was in 2017. Since then, however, the Chinese leadership and the Kremlin have advocated for pressure relief “for humanitarian reasons.” The United States and its allies reminded that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is primarily to blame for the poor humanitarian situation.
What kind of missile launch are they talking about
Recently, US President Joseph Biden made a diplomatic visit to South Korea. It should be noted that it was there that he signed a decree on providing Ukraine with $40 billion in aid.
As soon as the president left the territory of Asia on May 25, a militaristic “show” was staged in the DPRK. The country, a few hours after Joe Biden's departure, launched 3 ballistic missiles. This was reported, in particular, in the Japan Coast Guard Administration.
It should be noted that this year there has already been a similar event with a demonstration of weapons. On January 11, it became known that the DPRK had tested a “new advanced ballistic missile.” The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea stated that the speed of the ammunition reached 12,348 kilometers per hour.
