The Norwegian Ministry of Defense has stated that it will continue to deploy NATO troops in Lithuania. All of its 200 troops will remain there until August.
This decision was made because of Russia's attack on Ukraine. The deployment of the military there was increased in February.
What is known about the additional troops
In February, the number of troops was increased by about 50. At first they had to stay there for three months, but subsequently the deployment period was increased by the same amount.
Norway announced that it plans to send troops after August. How many of them are still unknown.
