There is now an understanding within Hungarian society that a democratic country cannot live for decades under the rule of one politician who does not adapt to changes both in his country and in the world.

This is a man who has sat in all the high, beautiful chairs of his state, who has been living for 20 years thanks to promises, cheap European loans, corrupt oil and gas resources from Russia and nuclear energy, which the Russians are also building for them. Therefore, sooner or later, the inability to respond to one’s statements makes itself felt, he believes. for 7 mandates. “However, this does not mean absolutely that Orban has sharply shaken in his positions and is now almost an outsider in the political race within Hungary. At the very least, this indicates that his rhetoric is a “peace-loving dove”, who is against conflicts, who is for cooperation with all parties , is malfunctioning and has become “boring” to voters who do not believe populist statements, but want more real steps,” explained the political scientist.

The Hungarian economy cannot operate without external revenues. Money from the European Union is actually much more important for Hungary than support from Russia. The Hungarians also understand this.

European Parliament election results for Orban: the main thing

• Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party suffered a significant defeat in the European Parliament elections. She received the worst result in her history. Fidesz-KDNP won 44.6% of the vote, which allowed the party to claim 11 seats instead of the current 13 in the European Parliament. This is significantly less than the polls predicted.
