Unfortunately, not everyone manages to survive. So, in the war, 12 journalists have already died at the hands of the orcs. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova.
12 journalists have been killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the war
These journalists covered Russian war crimes and became victims . Another 10 media workers received injuries of varying severity.
As of today, according to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, the Russian armed forces and other occupying troops have committed crimes against at least 56 media representatives, the report says.
15 of the injured journalists are citizens other states, including:
- 4 citizens of Britain
- 2 citizens of the Czech Republic
- 2 – Denmark
- 2 – UAE
- 1 – Switzerland
- 2 – US citizens
According to the monitoring of the Institute of Mass Communication, 148 cases have already been committed against journalists and media in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion illegal actions.
Venediktova noted that the protection of journalists is a priority of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
