Entrepreneur is building one of the most expensive real estate properties in the world.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is building a vast complex with an underground bunker in Hawaii. Its value, including the plot of land, is $270 million.
This is revealed in the WIRED investigation.
What is known about the project
The construction site is surrounded by a 6-foot-high wall. Security guards are on duty at the entrance gates and patrol the surrounding beaches on ATVs. Sources note that different construction crews at the site are assigned to individual projects and workers are prohibited from talking to other crews about their work. In addition, it is strictly prohibited to take photos/videos of objects.
As investigators note, the project is so huge that employees are under a non-disclosure agreement. But everyone knows what's behind it. Mark Zuckerberg, who began the process of purchasing land back in 2014.
As planned, the property, known as the Koolau Ranch, will include a 5,000-square-foot underground bunker and have its own energy and food reserves.
“The project relied on legal maneuvering and political connections, and at times, according to sources, showed disdain for the local public,” investigators noted.
Recall that Zuckerberg was banned from entering Russia.
