LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky spoke about the long New Year holidays. According to him, these days an extreme jump in mortality is observed annually, according to RIA Novosti.

Zhirinovsky proposed to postpone the New Year holidays and include them in the holidays of Russians. In his opinion, it is necessary to preserve the number of days off, but instead of general fixed vacations, citizens should add 15 more to 28 ordinary vacation days. Then the Russians themselves will choose when to “take a day off”.

“Someone will keep their holidays for the New Year – they have the right, please. And the other will have an extra week to rest on the May holidays. Moreover, at this time, many go to the dacha to prepare a vegetable garden. Another person will take a week in December to go on vacation, ”the politician urged.

The head of the Liberal Democratic Party added that some Russians should be offered to add one or two days off every other week. In addition, he called the New Year holidays a dangerous period.

“10 days of the New Year's“ lockdown ”provoke people to drunkenness, the number of domestic crimes, fights, etc. is growing. Huge losses in the economy, which actually stands during this period, ”the parliamentarian stressed.

The State Duma deputy added that at this time it is difficult to do useful things. Also, most of the institutions are closed, the prices for travel are becoming more expensive.

“So what good is this vacation then? Many people have no choice but to sit at home and drink, ”he concluded.

Earlier, the Russians expressed their opinion about the duration of the New Year holidays. A quarter of the interviewed respondents admitted that they are indifferent to this circumstance.
