The expert named the one who created the military enclave in the region.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov raised the issue of the 14th Guards Combined Arms Army in Pridnestrovie and noted that it has not been in the region for more than 30 years.

This was discussed during the broadcast of the expert on his YouTube channel.

“The 14th Army of the Russian Federation was withdrawn from the region by General Lebed (Alexander Lebed, commander of the 14th Army, died in 2002 during the crash of a Mi-8 helicopter – ed.). It was he who was the progenitor of this enclave. It was he who suggested leaving garrison and not withdraw troops completely,” Zhdanov said.

According to him, until 2014, Ukraine provided transit through its territory for the supply of goods to the Russian contingent in Pridnestrovie.

“We also tried to participate in the 3 + 2 formula for the settlement of the Transnistrian crisis. Then we played the role of mediators, helping Russia put pressure on Moldova, which must be recognized. And then we ourselves found ourselves in such a role in the Minsk agreements,” the expert noted.

He said that even after 2014, civilian cargo in Peredniestria was in transit through the territory of Ukraine.

“Russian echelons traveled along the Ukrainian railway, which experts have repeatedly said. At the same time, yes, military cargo was not delivered. Thus, the military contingent existed in Pridnestrovie,” he said.

We add that Russia may be preparing provocations in the region. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the threat to Ukraine from the unrecognized Transnistria . A Ukrainian military expert called the region a “cancerous tumor” that should not be left on the body of “security.”
