He called for the approval of a new, very important sanctions package against the Russian Federation at the EU level to protect the need for a complete blocking of Russian banks.
Today, April 14, during his address to the Estonian Parliament, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called to finally include oil in the sanctions package.
“We need an embargo at the level of the entire European Union,” he said.
He also invited Estonian specialists to join the work of a joint group created to investigate war crimes of the Russian army on the territory of independent Ukraine .
Technical and expert support is indispensable now, when the number of military crimes already reaches tens of thousands, Zelensky noted.
“These are executions of civilians, these are tortures, rapes, blowing up hospitals, bombing maternity hospitals, burning food warehouses, shelling shelters in which – and they knew about it , I emphasize once again – children are hiding … There is no such crime that Russian soldiers would not have committed during the 49 days of this invasion,” he said.
He also added that all these war crimes in Ukraine will definitely investigate and identify all the perpetrators.
“No matter how long it takes us. But if we do it together with you, together with other European states, we will be able to do it much faster,” the President added.
