Zelensky spoke with Ursula von der Leyen: what was discussed

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that he spoke on the phone with the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the decision to allocate 50 billion euros and the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

This was mentioned in Zelensky’s message on the evening of December 10.

“I maintain constant contact with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. In a telephone conversation, we coordinated our positions before the meeting of the European Council. (…) We count on a positive decision on the allocation of €50 billion and the start of accession negotiations Ukraine in the EU,” Zelensky said.

He also recalled that Europe must resolutely defend its values ​​and unity and thanked for the high assessment of the work to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission.

“I know that we can count on support from Madam President in this,” the president added.

Previously it became known that the European Commission will provide Ukraine 50 million euros for the repair and renewal of the infrastructure of ports that were destroyed due to attacks by the Russian army.
