President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during an hour-long telephone conversation with US leader Joe Biden invited him to visit Ukraine, CNN reports.
A source in the Ukrainian government said that the head of the American administration did not give a positive response to a request to come to the country “as soon as possible.” An informant in Biden's office, in turn, said that his visit to Ukraine is extremely unlikely.
On February 13, Presidents of Ukraine and the United States Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden had a telephone conversation. As a result of the conversation, they decided to continue diplomacy to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. In addition, the leaders of the countries discussed the security situation, economic issues and sanctions against Russia.
US President Joe Biden said earlier that Russia would “invade” Ukraine on February 16. At the same time, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken did not in any way confirm the statement of the country's leader.
