President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky demanded that a system of guarantees be provided for Kiev like that of NATO countries. He stated this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.

Zelensky said that the alliance remains the only security alliance for Ukraine that the country could join, recalling the open door policy. “Passing this path, we must get a system of guarantees. And at least theoretically, it should not be inferior to the system that is being offered to NATO countries. We are firmly talking about this,” he stressed, adding that, in particular, these guarantees should include a clause on “a strong, secure and armed army.”

During the same conversation, Vladimir Zelensky announced the need to sign a global treaty on the country's security, in which the United States and Russia would participate. According to the Ukrainian leader, “we will not get away with the Normandy format team and no one will.”
