Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to send firefighters to help Greece. He wrote about this on his Twitter page.
“I set the task for the government to assist Greece in overcoming the devastating fires that are raging in some parts of the country. On Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers must make a decision so that 100 of our experienced firefighters with the necessary equipment will soon go to the rescue, ”he said.
Earlier it was reported that wildfires in the northern suburbs of Athens destroyed about 100 houses. The fire began at the foot of Mount Parnassus. The country's capital was under threat.
The Russian Be-200 amphibious aircraft, which Moscow sent to Greece to help extinguish the fires, is out of order. One of his engines was damaged.
