President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave an unexpected reason for the defeat of the country's national football team at Euro 2020. He spoke about this in his New Year's video message, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the Ukrainian team lost in the quarterfinals of the England tournament with a score of 0: 4, because Ukrainian footballers did not want to spoil the country's relations with a strategic partner. Zelensky also noted that the team's game united all the inhabitants of Ukraine and “made happy” the producers of the sedative.
Earlier, the forward of Dnipro-1 and the Ukrainian national football team, Artem Dovbik, speculated about the options for continuing his career. The forward assessed the chances of transferring to the Russian club as zero. “I remember someone wrote that I was being invited to a Russian club, so my father immediately dialed and asked:“ I don’t understand something? ” I don't even consider such options, ”Dovbik said.
