President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy named the condition for a direct call to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The head of state said that he would contact the Russian leader directly if the administrations in Kiev and Moscow could not agree on problematic issues, UNIAN reports.

“If the administrations fail to agree on complex documents and the like within a certain period of time, then I will call him directly,” Zelensky said, adding that they are not currently communicating.

He stressed that Ukraine is ready for direct face-to-face dialogue in any format and hopes for mutual readiness from Russia. According to him, the administrations are discussing the agenda of the meeting of the heads of state.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian authorities have not received any specific proposals from Ukraine for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
