The risk of a full-scale offensive by Russian troops on Ukraine has existed for eight years, since the beginning of Russia's aggression against our state.
This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny on the Freedom of Speech air on the ICTV channel.
“There has always been a risk. He has been there for eight years. The risk is precisely a large-scale invasion. And, of course, we evaluate all these risks and monitor them together with our partners,” Zaluzny emphasized.
According to him, the situation near the state border is taken into account in the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the army has begun a complex of military exercises Metel-2022 throughout the country.
To date, the command and staff phase of the exercises has ended, as a result of which it was possible to create a backup control system, groupings in possible areas of action.
“Literally the day after tomorrow we will start a complex of practical exercises at the training grounds, where we will work out defense topics,” Zaluzhny specified.
