The fashion retailer is one of the beneficiaries of the corona crisis.
The German fashion retailer Zalando is counting on accelerating its growth in the coming year. We are prepared for this, said CFO David Schröder on Thursday at a Morgan Stanley conference. The European number one is currently changing from a pure trader to a platform provider who demands commissions and earns with logistics services.
Around 2,000 shops are already offering their goods on the Zalando website. Zalando wants to triple this number in the coming year. According to Schröder, this also helps the company react more quickly to trends.
Zalando is one of the beneficiaries of the corona crisis. More and more people are shopping online and buying their clothes online. Zalando raised its annual forecast for the second time in early October. “Our strategy is right for the crisis as well as for the time after,” said Schröder. The Zalando share has so far gained 75 percent this year. The business on the market is now worth more than 20 billion euros.
