The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the air of Channel One warned Ukraine against distributing weapons to the population. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The distribution of weapons is just the end. What's next, will prisoners be released from jails? So that it just ends with a massacre, ”the diplomat emphasized.
Earlier, Zakharova said that Moscow's military operation in the Donbass is aimed at preventing a global war.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special operation in the Donbass. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and the severance of diplomatic relations with the Russian side.
