Maria Zakharova
Russophobia in the United States is one of the key factors in the internal political struggle. This was announced on the RTVI channel by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
She explained that this practice is included in the electoral cycle and is observed during election campaigns. Also, she added, the American media play a significant role in fanning and whipping up anti-Russian sentiment.
At the same time, the diplomat noted, the American man in the street does not understand why Russia is a threat, “since it is impossible to understand this.”
On December 23, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow did not expect anything good from the administration of the new US President Joe Biden. According to the diplomat, many of the Democrat's team have made a career out of Russophobia.
On December 15, Vladimir Putin congratulated US Democratic candidate Joe Biden on his victory in the presidential election. In the telegram, the Russian leader wished the President-elect every success and expressed confidence that Russia and the United States “can, despite their differences, really contribute to solving many problems and challenges that the world is currently facing.”
