Deterring Russia and its alleged aggression is a top priority for NATO. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova during a press briefing. The broadcast of her speech is available on the YouTube channel “Russia 24”.
“The Alliance has clearly shown that it is precisely this deterrence of Russia that is the [main] priority. Military construction plans, exercises, infrastructure construction are tied up under this, and the organization’s cooperation programs with partners are built accordingly,” Zakharova said.
Earlier at a briefing, the diplomat said that Washington’s statements about the evacuation of the US embassies from Ukraine and Belarus are a propaganda step by the American side. In her opinion, such messages are stuffing and misinformation related to the escalation of tension around the situation in Ukraine.
