Russia does not intend to return to the “iron curtain” in relations with Western states. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said this in an interview with the BelRos TV channel.
Answering the question whether Moscow will return to the “iron curtain” in relations with the West, the diplomat stressed that the Russian side will not take such steps. “And what are they going to build at home, our western partners, (it is not known – approx.” Lenta.ru “ )”, – she added.
In July, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman spoke about the EU's sadomasochistic punishment for Russia. Thus, she commented on the EU's demand from the Russian Federation of 290 billion euros in the dispute at the World Trade Organization (WTO). “Now we know how much the European Union has estimated the stupidity and lack of independence of its own political elites,” Zakharova noted then.
