The full responsibility for the disruption of negotiations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his colleague Jean-Yves Le Drian lies with the French side. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova. According to the diplomat, on February 22, following an extraordinary informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union countries, the French minister announced the cancellation of the visit. “At the same time, the Russian Embassy in France was informed that in the current context, Le Drian decided to cancel the planned meeting,” she said.
