The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova named one of the main results of the outgoing year. She told about this in an interview with the BelRos TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
According to her, this result was the restoration of life, which “nearly collapsed” in 2020 due to the pandemic. “Based on my feelings, the twenty-first year has passed under the sign of recovery,” she stressed. The Russian diplomat also noted that it is turning out to overcome the decadent sentiments of 2020.
Zakharova added that one should not become the same, because before the pandemic, people were often frivolous and dismissive of things that have now become an absolute value, such as communication with loved ones. In addition, she wished everyone peace, as well as love for everyone and peace in the coming year 2022.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry summed up the main foreign policy results of 2021. Among the important events in the field of security and stability, the Foreign Ministry named the transfer to the United States of a proposal on security guarantees in Europe, as well as a five-year extension of the Russian-American Treaty on Measures to Further Reduce and Limit Strategic Offensive Arms. They also noted the important role of Russia in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear deal and the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on not being the first to place weapons in outer space.
