Comparisons of the situation in Yugoslavia and Ukraine and similar visits are part of the Western falsification. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova. The broadcast is available on the YouTube channel of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“When NATO bombed Yugoslavia, they hit everything: civilians, civilian infrastructure, military infrastructure, the military, just people, everything. They, as you remember, bombed the Chinese embassy,” the diplomat called the differences between NATO’s actions in the Balkans.

According to Zakharova, in the Donbass we are talking about a special military operation in defense of the peoples who turned to Russia. “They started contacting us…when the Kiev regime sent regular troops there to suppress dissent in eastern Ukraine. The tanks went there,” the representative of the Foreign Ministry noted.

The diplomat noted that Russia has been trying for eight years to establish a dialogue between Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk. “The Kiev regime blocked this dialogue. For eight years there was bloodshed. For eight years, Russia has been trying to attract international attention,” she said.

Earlier, Zakharova said that a Russian military operation was necessary to prevent further casualties and end the war in Donbass.
