The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that at the moment there is no information that, due to the sanctions, Russians will not be able to obtain visas to the European Union (EU), the United States and Canada. She spoke about this on the YouTube channel Soloviev Live.
According to her, Western countries are currently reviewing agreements on a facilitated visa regime, which applies to diplomats and officials. However, Zakharova noted that she had not heard about the closure of the receipt and issuance of visas for Russians in general. “I have seen individual statements. But these are, as always, the orderly ranks of Eastern Europeans, who were the conductor of this aggressive logic, ”she emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that the European Union from February 28 terminates the agreement with Russia on the simplified issuance of visas. The suspension of the bilateral agreement will affect holders of diplomatic passports, businessmen and company representatives, members of official delegations who are sent to participate in consultations, meetings and exchange programs.
