Video hosting YouTube has warned that from June 1 it will start showing ads in all videos, and not just in those that participate in the affiliate program. At the same time, the service will not pay ordinary authors anything.
Previously, ads were placed only in videos, the authors of which participate in the affiliate program. These are usually popular bloggers and content creators. Users with less than a thousand subscribers and 4000 hours of total viewing time in the last 12 months cannot become members of the program. Program members receive a share of advertising revenue.
YouTube began to practice monetizing all videos in general in November 2020 in the United States. This practice will now spread to users all over the world.
In addition, rules come into force according to which authors who earn from advertising will have to submit their tax reports on the Google Adsense portal.
