Moscow. 22nd of May. INTERFAX.RU – YouTube management announced that from June 1, advertising will appear in all videos published on the platform. The service wants to monetize even those channels that are not connected to the affiliate program, according to the company's blog.
“You grant YouTube the right to monetize your content on the Service. This agreement does not entitle you to any payments. Beginning June 1, 2021, any payments you may receive from YouTube under any other agreement between you and YouTube will regarded as royalties, “the blog reads.
The message is also addressed to those whose videos are not connected to the YouTube affiliate program. To collect taxes, you will need to provide information about the TIN, the name of the legal entity and the name of the channel. In the absence of such information, hosting can retain up to 24% of revenue.
The updated terms of use for video hosting for Russia and other countries will enter into force from the first day of summer, while in the United States they began to operate in November 2020.
