Google has begun rolling out an update for the YouTube mobile app, allowing the popular video service to choose the default video quality for playback.
So, users can pre-configure in what quality the application will play video. You can configure the default video output in the highest quality (only 720p is available) or, on the contrary, to save Internet traffic, select the low quality option (from 144p to 480p). Note that you can manually select a resolution up to 4K UHD.
Among other things, in the section of advanced quality settings, you can set in what quality the videos will be played when the smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network. The innovation is available for both Android and iOS. To install it, you need to download the latest YouTube client.
