Thousands of protests were held in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities in support of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked for the support expressed by Georgian citizens, despite the fact that the government of this country refused to join the economic and financial sanctions against Russia.

He announced this in his address, published at midnight on February 25.

“I want to thank the good, beautiful Georgian people who took to the streets of their country and supported Ukraine. You are true friends, thank you,” Zelensky said.

Today, thousands of people came out in support of Ukraine in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities.

Earlier, President Zelensky reacted to these events on his Twitter.

“Incredible Georgian people, who understand exactly that friends need to be supported! Thanks to everyone in Tbilisi and other cities where they came out in support of Ukraine and against the war. Indeed, there are times when citizens are not the government, but better than the government,” he wrote.

Recall that earlier Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili condemned Russia's decision to recognize the “independence” of the pseudo-republics of the “LPR” and “DPR”.
