Moscow. October 31. INTERFAX.RU – Armenia and Azerbaijan will exchange lists of prisoners of war and bodies of those killed in the Karabakh conflict zone within a week, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs said.

“At a meeting in Geneva, Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, reached an agreement that the sides will not deliberately strike at civilians or non-military targets in accordance with international humanitarian law. The sides will actively participate in body exchange operations. dead, providing the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office with the necessary security guarantees to assist. Within one week, the parties will hand over to the ICRC a list of prisoners of war currently in custody for access and possible exchange, “the Minsk Co-Chairs said of the OSCE Group, published on the OSCE website.

According to the report, the parties will submit in writing comments and questions regarding possible mechanisms for verifying the ceasefire in accordance with a joint statement adopted in Moscow on October 10.

“The parties held an open and substantive exchange of views aimed at clarifying their negotiating positions on key elements of a comprehensive solution in accordance with paragraph 3 of the joint statement of October 10 (substantive negotiations based on the basic principles of the settlement with the aim of achieving an early peace settlement – IF). The Co-Chairs will continue intensive work with the parties to find a peaceful solution to the conflict, “the statement says.

The Co-Chairs reiterated their call on the parties to fully implement their commitments, including the immediate establishment of a humanitarian ceasefire, in accordance with a joint statement issued in Moscow on October 10.

The statement was adopted following the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group for the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and ICRC President Peter Maurer.
