Xiaomi has unveiled a new affordable flagship. This is reported by the publication GizmoChina.
The head of Xiaomi, Lu Weibing, spoke about the work on another productive and inexpensive device in his social networks. “In the upcoming Redmi K50 series, what features, specifications, user experience would you like to get?” Weibing asked his followers on the Weibo blog. The top manager of the company did not disclose the timing of the release of the smartphone, but journalists believe that the device will be released before the end of the year.
According to the authoritative insider Digital Chat Station, the K50 series smartphones will differ from their predecessors with improved performance, an updated screen and support for a new generation of fast charging. The authors noticed that the devices of the Redmi K40 series, which are called “flagship killers” for their high performance and affordable price, were presented in February 2021. In this regard, the early announcement of the K50 line looks unexpected.
Released in February, the Redmi K40 received a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with HDR10 + support and a frequency of up to 120 hertz. The device has a Snapdragon 870 processor, 5G support, 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal memory, a triple camera with 48, 8 and 5 megapixel lenses. The phone came out with a 4520 milliampere-hour battery.
In April, Xiaomi released a special edition of the Redmi K40 smartphone dedicated to Bruce Lee. The device has a black and yellow body and engraving “Bruce Lee – king of kung fu” on the back.
