After Apple, Xiaomi also leaves out the charger from its top smartphone. The trend is set to continue.
The next smartphone flagship from Xiaomi will not receive a charger. This emerges from an announcement by the Chinese company, reports Engadget. Many customers already have a suitable charger, and omitting the supplied charger is better for the environment.
Protests expected
The company recognizes that the move may be found uncomfortable by some potential customers. At a conference on December 28 one therefore wants to clarify how the decision to eject the charger came about.
Greed
According to critics, the economic factor is only a pretended reason for the omission of the charger. Xiaomi is more about increasing its profit margin. The smartphone manufacturer will probably receive additional income in the future from the sale of chargers with which the fast charging capabilities of the new device can be optimally used.

Delivering smartphones without a charger should be a trend that will be encountered more often in the coming year. After Apple and Xiaomi, Samsung should also consider not putting a charger in the packaging of its Galaxy S21 smartphone model.
