Xiaomi will focus on smart home devices. The head of the company Lu Weibing told about this in his social networks, according to the publication GizmoChina.
A top manager of the Chinese corporation said that 2021 will be the year of the Internet of Things (IoT). In this regard, Xiaomi will focus on the release of smart home products, especially in the Chinese market. The journalists noticed that in this way Xiaomi intends to expand the range of various household gadgets, which is already quite impressive.
Weibing also disclosed that the company analyzed the sales of devices during the New Year and holidays and noted an increased interest in Xiaomi products. The entrepreneur clarified that the company plans to release more smart home items than it had previously planned, and to make the same emphasis on the Internet of Things segment as it did on smartphones.
At the same time, the founder of Xiaomi did not specify which devices his company plans to release. Also, Lu Weibing did not say how much attention the company will pay to the smartphone segment.
Earlier, Xiaomi announced a partnership with Mail.Ru Group. As part of the partnership, in particular, the voice assistant “Marusya”, created by a Russian company, was taught how to manage smart home devices of a Chinese corporation. The list of devices supported by Marusya includes a heater, fans, an air purifier and other Xiaomi gadgets.
