Xiaomi has not received messages about blocking devices in Europe and the CIS countries, Xiaomi reported on Facebook in response to user complaints regarding the blocking of smartphones in Crimea.

“At the moment, we have not received a single appeal from users in Europe and the CIS countries regarding the blocking of Xiaomi devices,” the message says.

The absence of complaints about non-working devices is also reported in a group of Crimean Mi92 stores on the VKontakte social network. The stores sell the company's gadgets.

“At the moment, we have not received confirmation or denial of this information from the official representative office of Xiaomi in Russia. All new devices pass activation without any problems and work flawlessly, ”the message says.

In early September, Reddit and Facebook users reported that the owners of Xiaomi devices in Cuba began to see inscriptions on the screens, which said that the sale of this product was prohibited in the territory where they were trying to activate it. On September 10, the XDA-Developers portal reported about the blocking of smartphones in Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan and Crimea.

Rospotrebnadzor told RBC that it had not received complaints about the blocking of smartphones in Crimea. Such actions of the manufacturer do not provide for administrative responsibility, the department noted. But device owners can file a property claim against Xioami. Rospotrebnadzor promised to develop the necessary recommendations and consider the issue of assistance to consumers in terms of judicial protection. They noted that the department can file a class action against the manufacturer.
