The Chinese corporation Xiaomi in the second quarter of 2021 became the leader in the European smartphone market for the first time. The company has sold nearly 13 million smartphones and now occupies over a quarter of the market in Europe (including Russia). Also, the five largest sellers in the region included Samsung Electronics, Apple and the brands of the Chinese company BBK – OPPO and Realme.
According to Strategy Analytics, the largest smartphone seller in Europe, including Russia, is Xiaomi, which sold 12.7 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2021. Now the Chinese corporation controls 25.3% of the continental market.
Samsung Electronics, which previously occupied the first position in the European market, moved to the second line – the company delivered 12 million smartphones, while its share dropped to 24%. The third place is occupied by Apple with a volume of product shipments of 9.6 million and a market share of 19.2%.
The brands of the Chinese company BBK – OPPO (2.8 million smartphones and 5.6% of the market share) and Realme (1.9 million and 3.8%) occupy the fourth and fifth lines, respectively.
Earlier, “Secret” wrote that Xiaomi has overtaken Apple in terms of sales of smartphones and for the first time took the second place in the world in terms of this indicator. Leadership is held by the South Korean IT giant Samsung.
